Michael Moore Shown The Door As Snyder Puts New Name On Michigan Film Office Advisory Council

LANSING (WWJ/AP) - Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Moore no longer will serve on the Michigan Film Office Advisory Council after Republican Gov. Rick Snyder named a suburban-Detroit businessman to replace him.

Moore joined the council as an appointee of then-Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm.

Snyder announced Thursday he was renominating a second council member whose term expires along with Moore's.

The governor says Birmingham advertising executive Bill Ludwig will remain on the 14-member board, along with new member Ted Serbinski of Birmingham. Serbinski works with Detroit Venture Partners and is an ex-director of technology for A&E Television.

Their four-year terms expire in 2018.

Moore has been active over the years developing the Traverse City's State Theatre, home of Michael Moore's annual film festival.

In July, Moore's divorce from Kathleen Glynn was finalized, ending their two-decade-long marriage.

Moore filed a divorce complaint on June 17, 2013, in Michigan's Antrim County, where the couple has a lakefront home.
