Jury Convicts 2 Men Of Fatally Shooting Bouncer At Detroit's Club Pandemonium

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A jury has convicted two men in the fatal shooting of an anti-crime advocate and bouncer at a popular Detroit nightclub.

Carl Bruner and Michael Lawson were found guilty Thursday in Wayne County court in the killing of 39-year-old Marcel Jackson at Club Pandemonium on East Congress.

According to a report in the Detroit News, Jackson had kicked a man out of the club for hitting a woman shortly before the June 2012 shooting. The man returned with an accomplice and fired shots that hit Jackson in the back. He died at an area hospital.

Bruner and Lawson were arrested after a two-year investigation. It's unclear how they were tied to the crime.

Sentencing is set for January.

Jackson, a married father of six, was a well-known member of the crime prevention community group Detroit 300.
