Michigan Supreme And Appeals Courts To Utilize New eFiling System From ImageSoft

By Edward Cardenas

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - A southeast Michigan-based company is providing a new eFiling and eService program for the Michigan Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

TrueFiling, an eFiling and eService solution from Southfield, Michigan-based ImageSoft, will be used on a test group of filers for the next few weeks, the company stated. Following a successful test run, it is scheduled to be available to all fliers Jan. 5, 2015.

"With electronic filing at the Michigan Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, the public will benefit from even better customer service and the added convenience of 24/7 access to file important documents," said ImageSoft President Scott Bade, in a release.

TrueFiling, which will eventually replace the Court of Appeals' current eFiling system, is a Web-based eFiling product that allows attorneys to electronically file documents to the courts from anywhere, and anytime, an Internet connection is available. The system also allows for real-time communication with the courts through the TrueFiling web portal.

The system allows for greater efficiency for users by eliminating the need to copy, process and deliver thousands of paper documents, and through bundling feature, combine several filings for a single case into one transaction and creates a system-generated proof of service.

"TrueFiling has consistently received high marks from end users," added Bade, in a release. "It is a true multi-jurisdictional solution that is built for the complex law firm, but is also simple enough for the self-represented filer."

Other than paying the statutory filing fees when applicable, there is no additional cost to the filer to use TrueFiling. There are no transaction charges or credit card processing fees charged to filers.
