1 Charged, 2 At Large In Macomb County Armed Home Invasion

CLINTON TWP. (WWJ) - One suspect has been arrested, and two remain at large, in a Mount Clemens home invasion.

Lujuan Carl McCants, 40, of Detroit has is behind bars facing a laundry list of charges in connection to the crime that occurred Tuesday night.

According to Macomb County Sheriff's Officials, McCants and two others were wearing masks when they forced a 67-year-old woman into her Court Street home at gunpoint, tied her up, and robbed the place.

Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said the robbers — all described as black males in their 20s or 30 — left the victim bound for about an hour as they searched the house for valuables. When they were finished, Wickersham said, the men demanded the keys to the woman's Cadillac, left her a knife to use to free herself, and fled.

The woman was not injured.

Bond was for McCants was set at $100,000 case or surety at an arraignment in 41-B District Court Friday afternoon on the following charges: armed robbery, first degree home invasion, unlawful imprisonment, unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm and felony firearm.

He faces up to life in prison if convicted on the armed robbery charge and is due back in court on Dec. 29.

Meantime, the search continues for the two others suspects.  Wickersham said it was not immediately clear if the woman was targeted of it this was a random crime as an investigation is ongoing.
