Mom Of Slain Grosse Pointe Farms Teen: 'This Is Going To Change Our Lives Forever'

GROSSE POINTE FARMS (WWJ) - The family of Grosse Pointe Farms teenager who was shot and killed last week are asking for the public's help in identifying the man responsible.

"My whole family is devastated and this is going to change our lives forever, not only our lives, but the lives of people in our community," said Jennifer Stalker, the mother of Paige Stalker.

Jennifer Stalker said the outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming.

"We just had such an outpouring of love, everyone just stopping by and talking about it, it was wonderful," said Jennifer, "that was really nice."

"This is a human issue," said Rev. Maleek Shebaz,"it's not a Detroit issue, it's not a Grosse Pointe issue, it's not a black or white issue. It's a human being issue."

Sixteen-year-old Paige Stalker was among a group of teenagers in a parked car on Detroit's east side on December 22, when the shooting occurred.

" ... my three other children, we talk a lot about Paige and what kind of person she was and just our trips that we've taken together," Jennifer Stalker. "There aren't enough words to say what a wonderful child Paige was, in every way, she was an angel here on earth."

"Somebody said (the shooter)they got out of the passenger seat, I believe what was said was that he got out of the back seat of the car, so that implies that possibly there was ... one other individual, possibly two other individuals," said the grandfather of Paige, Dave Lawerance.

Detroit police are considering it an attempted robbery that turned into a murder.

Rewards for information leading to an arrest have grown to $112,000.
