DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit police responded to the scene of a shooting on the city’s west side that apparently started as an armed robbery Thursday night.

Officers arrived to the scene on Pingree Street, between Woodward and the Lodge Freeway, south of Clairmount.

Police say one victim was shot twice in the leg, and is in serious condition at a hospital.

Officers are looking for at least three suspects. Authorities say they were armed with an AK-47 Assault Rife. The suspects allegedly took the victim’s house keys, along with his wallet, containing credit cards and $150 in cash.

Police haven’t provided any further information.
