Harbaugh Hitting Recruiting Trail Hard, Showing Up At Metro Detroit High Schools

CBS DETROIT - The Michigan football program has struggled since longtime head coach Lloyd Carr retired after the 2007 season. In the seven seasons since Carr's departure, only twice have the Wolverines have won eight or more games.
Under Brady Hoke, the head coach whom Michigan fired following the 2014 season, the team's record dipped every year. This season the Wolverines failed to even qualify for a bowl game.
In terms of recruiting, however, Michigan got immeasurably more competitive when it hired alumnus and former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh. Known as a winner and a firebrand, Harbaugh gives Michigan an instant credibility boost.
The new coach has evidently wasted no time putting that advantage to use, hitting the recruiting trail hard Thursday by showing up at high schools all over metro Detroit.
According to various sources on Twitter, Harbaugh also made visits to Detroit Catholic Central, Orchard Lake St. Mary's and Farmington Hills Harrison.
Before leaving the NFL to coach at Michigan, Harbaugh took the 49ers to the NFC championship game in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
