Police: 3-Year-Old Boy Dies In Apparent Accidental Shooting
BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Police say a 3-year-old boy has died following an apparent accidental shooting at a home in southwestern Michigan.
Police responded early Wednesday to a home in Berrien County's Benton Township, where they found a 3-year-old boy with a gunshot wound.
The Kalamazoo Gazette reports the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The boy's name wasn't immediately released. In a statement, police say initial indications are that it was "an accidental discharge of a firearm resulting in fatality."
The death is under investigation.
Police say two guns registered to one of the residents of the home were seized.
