Peanut Butter Bars Recalled Due To Unlisted Allergens

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - Pro-bar has announced a voluntary recall of its Frosted Peanut Butter Bars because they may contain an allergen not listed on the box.

The company said people who have an allergy or sensitivity to milk who eat these protein bars run the risk of a serious allergic reaction. So far, the company said, there have been two consumer complaints of allergic reactions to date that prompted the recall.

The bars were distributed to retailers nationwide and were sold online.  Retailers and distributors have since been notified to remove the product from store shelves.

The three lots that may contain the allergen are the following:

Individual unit lot codes and expiration dates are printed on the outer seal of the wrapper; and 12-unit case lot code and expiration date is printed on the outside of the box.
