Tigers Baseball Brings Us A Moment In The Sun As Pitchers And Catchers Report

By Christy Strawser

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) It's cold and miserable here in Detroit, with face-numbing wind chills and mind-numbing gray skies that return day after day.

Lake Michigan is frozen, Niagara Falls aren't falling because they're too darn cold, and hordes of people are freezing off their backsides to see the spectacle of a waterfall seized to stillness by the frigid temperatures.

Let's not even talk about the ice cave phenomenon.

But somewhere there is hope! And by somewhere we mean Florida.

Bullpen sessions mean #BaseballIsBack!! ????

Detroit's boys of summer reported to spring training in Lakeland, Fla., at least the pitchers and catchers did, to warm up literally and figuratively. The Tigers posted a short video featuring "bullpen sessions" in the sun and we thought it would brighten up an otherwise dreary, cold Friday February afternoon.

There are lots of questions about the 2015 Tigers season -- Will Miggy be ready for Opening Day? Will the old Justin Verlander return? How many games will his supermodel girlfriend Kate Upton attend? What will the clubhouse chemistry feel like without Torii Hunter and Max Scherzer?

Those will be answered in time. But for now let's enjoy a moment of sunshine and think about what could happen when this veil of cold and gray lifts from the area.
