Drugs, Hypothermia Suspected In Death Of Rochester Hills Teen Found In Car

ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - Drugs are believed to have been a factor in the death of a Rochester Hills teenager.

Emergency personnel were called to a home on the 1900 block of Ansal — near Old Perch Road and Walton —  Tuesday evening, on reports of an unresponsive man in a car.

According to Oakland County Sheriff's officials, CPR was performed at the scene, but the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at Crittenton Hospital.

Police believe the teen arrived home between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.; although he wasn't found in his car until 8: 25 p.m.

Sheriff's officials said the deceased had a history of drug abuse and there was drug paraphernalia found in the car. He also likely suffered from hypothermia due to the extreme cold temperatures, officials said.

An autopsy will be performed to determine a definitive cause of death as an investigation continues.

The young man's name has not been released.
