Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle On Telegraph Road
PONTIAC (WWJ) - Authorities say a 55-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a vehicle in Pontiac.
The accident happened around 9:35 p.m. Monday on Telegraph Road just south of Hazel Street, between Orchard Lake Road and Voorheis Street.
When police arrived on the scene, the man was lying in the middle of the road. He was declared dead at the scene.
The driver, a 54-year-old Highland Township man, told police he was traveling northbound on Telegraph Road in the middle lane when he struck the victim, whose name was not immediately released.
Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
