Man Sentenced To Prison In 2012 Robbery Of Iraqi Diplomat
DETROIT (AP) - A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison in the 2012 robbery of an Iraqi diplomat and his wife.
A federal judge this week ordered James Dubose of Detroit to serve seven years for using a firearm in violent crime and 20 months for assaulting a foreign official using a deadly weapon.
Dubose earlier pleaded guilty. Federal authorities say he and Tyrone Gulley targeted the couple while they shopped at a Southfield supermarket. Prosecutors say they were held up at gunpoint at home as they were taking their children out of their car.
The diplomat isn't named in the indictment.
Gulley is set to be sentenced on May 5 after pleading guilty to aiding and abetting the use of a firearm during a violent crime.
