Police: Homeowner Critically Injured While Killing 1 Of 2 Intruders, Other Suspect At Large
DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit homeowner seriously injured during a home invasion this morning--but not before killing one of his attackers.
The shooting happened on Liberal Avenue near Kelly and East State Fair early Monday morning reports WWJ's Ron Dewey.
According to police two men made their way into the home by forcing the homeowner's girlfriend into the house at gunpoint.
The homeowner and the intruders exchanged gunfire, leaving the homeowner in critical condition, one of the intruders, a 46-year-old man was killed, and the second intruder escaped.
Police are now searching for that second suspect.
