Student Made A 'Very Bad Choice' Says Center Line Administrator

CENTER LINE (WWJ) - Center Line school administrators say they have identified a middle school student who posted an Instagram threat that led to the two-day closure of Wolfe Middle School. Administrators also say more than one student may be involved.

The social media threat led to the closing of Wolfe Middle School on Monday and Tuesday. Classes will be in session Wednesday, May 13.

Administrators and police detectives were questioning a number of students and executed search warrants as part of the investigation. Police have said criminal charges are likely.

A letter to parents and students says it was a middle school student who made a "very bad choice" and there will be "significant consequences."

Superintendent, Eve Kaltz, wrote to parents expressing the need to be aware of online dangers.

"An anonymous post, engaging online with a stranger, posting overly personal information, cyberbullying and sexting are all examples of online behavior that can lead to dire lifelong consequences for the person posting, people aware of the post and absolute innocent bystanders.
