Police Seek Tips To Capture Man 'Terrorizing Young Ladies' In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are searching for a suspect in the attempted abductions of teen girls in Detroit.

All of the incidents, involving young women between the ages of 14 and 17,  occurred between Wednesday and Friday of last week, according in investigators, in the area of W. Chicago and Evergreen Road.

In one of the cases, police said, the suspect jumped out of his car and tried to grab a 14-year-old girl; and, in another, he pulled his vehicle up to a trio of teens and exposed his genitals while touching himself.

In a third, police said, the man followed a 15-year-old girl while she walked to school and then offered her money to come to his house. When she refused, he grabbed her around the waist and tried, unsuccessfully, to pull her into his car.

In all three cases the young women involved ran away and called police. No one was injured.

"These incidents that have all occurred in the area of Way Academy, and are being investigated fervently by our team of detectives," police said in a media release. "The Detroit Police Department will seek this suspect out and capture him for terrorizing these young ladies."

The suspect is described as a black male between 30-40 years old; 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 170 lbs, with a goatee, mustache and a scar on his right cheek. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black jacket and blue jeans and was driving a black Ford Focus with dark rims.

Anyone who sees this described suspect is asked to call 911 immediately, and anyone with information about any of these incidents should call Detroit police 313-596-1950.
