"The property is situated on 2.2 acres, the property consists of a 10,500 square foot primary residence, a 4,400 square foot pool house and a five-car carriage house - which also has an 1,100 square foot, three-bedroom apartment above it," said Smith.

She says the living room spans the entire west side of the house, and has loads of updates.

The home was built in 1929 by a lumber magnate. Gordy bought what became known as the "Motown Mansion" in 1967 and lived there a few years before moving to Los Angeles.

Gordy sold the home in 2001.
