Gunman On The Run After Deadly Shooting Outside Detroit Strip Club

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for the person who killed a 40-year-old man outside an exotic dance club on the city's west side.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday at Jaguar Gentleman's Club, located in a strip mall at Joy and Greenfield roads.

Police responded to a call of shots fired and found a man dead in the parking lot. Other circumstances weren't immediately clear.

A man who did not want to be named, said he was inside the club when the shooting happened but didn't hear any gunshots. Several customers, however, reported hearing the shooting.

"I think there might have been more to it," he told WWJ's Mike Campbell. "They was probably trying to rob him or something but I don't think somebody just up and shot him."

The man said whatever transpired took place entirely in the parking lot because nothing out of the ordinary was going on inside the club prior to the shooting.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.

Police are searching to for the suspect, described as a stocky man wearing a black hoodie. He might have fled the scene in an older-model Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact police at 313-267-4600.
