CBS DETROIT - The Kansas City takeover of the All-Star Game ballot continued Monday, as the latest update revealed eight Royals now listed as starters.

First baseman Eric Hosmer still leads Miguel Cabrera by close to half a million votes.

In last week's update, the American League roster included seven Kansas City Royals as starters - Hosmer, shortstop Alcides Escobar, third baseman Mike Moustakas, catcher Salvador Perez, designated hitter Kendrys Morales and outfielders Lorenzo Cain and Alex Gordon.

This week, second baseman Omar Infante joined that group, passing Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros. Infante has a batting average of .204. Altuve has a batting average of .290.

Following last week's update, with Hosmer leading Cabrera by more than half a million votes, the Tigers amped up their promotion of All-Star Game voting, urging fans via Twitter, email, and signs in the ballpark to vote for the Tigers players and for Cabrera in particular.

Evidently the Tigers will need to do much more promotion in the weeks to come if they want Cabrera to start at first base.
