"Ant-Man" Is Fun, Funny, Exciting And SUPER Creative

DETROIT (WWJ) – Superhero movies based on Marvel Comics just keep getting better and better. "Ant-Man," the latest film from the Marvel Comics franchise starring Paul Rudd in the title role, is fun, funny, exciting and super creative.

Before Ant-Man takes on his superhero persona, he's a mild-mannered master thief by the name of Scott Lang. Even though Lang is very intelligent and probably could have a successful corporate career, he decides to earn his livelihood as a burglar. His work as a thief is how he ultimately meets the original Ant-Man, Dr. Pym, who becomes his mentor.

Ant-Man is called into action against Pym's former protégé, Darren Cross, who has gone rogue. Even though Pym tries to hide the Ant-Man technology, Cross discovers it and uses it to sell to the highest bidder. To keep Cross from successfully carrying out his evil plan, Ant-Man joins forces with Pym and Pym's brilliant daughter, Hope.

There's a lot going on in "Ant-Man," which makes the story interesting and keeps it moving. In addition to saving the world, outside of his Ant-Man heroics, Lang is busy trying to maintain a relationship with his young daughter, Cassie. His ex-wife, Maggie, is none-too-happy with Lang's chosen lifestyle or with the fact that he has gotten thousands of dollars behind in his child support payments. So, Lang is not only fighting to save the world, he's fighting to save his relationship with his daughter.

Paul Rudd puts his comedic skills to good use. Michael Pena is hilarious as Luis, as are T.I. as Dave and Wood Harris as Gale. I was also particularly impressed with the creativity the writers use for Luis to tell a story. And I loved how they gave a mini sneak peek into Ant-Man and upcoming Avengers movies.

Superhero fans, action movie fans and movie fans in general who love a good time should make sure they catch "Ant-Man." And, be sure to stick around after the credits roll so you don't miss out on what's still to come.
