Grab The Family And Head To Campus Martius Park For 'Faygo Movie Night In The D' Every Saturday In August

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's a family experience in Detroit like no other.

Faygo Movie Night in the D presents Academy Award-nominated and -winning films under the stars on a brand new large outdoor screen in Campus Martius park. Part of the Quicken Loans Summer in the Park, the movie nights take place every Saturday at 8 p.m. starting August 1.

Movie selections include a variety of films ranging from family favorites to historical chronicles and action-packed features. While chairs are provided, moviegoers are welcome to bring their own blankets and picnics.

August 1: "How to Train Your Dragon" - A hapless young Viking and a young dragon discover an ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider and find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace.

August 8: "Selma" - A chronicle of Martin Luther King's campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965.

August 15: "Interstellar" - A team of explorers travel through a wormhole in space in an attempt to ensure humanity's survival.

August 22: "The Theory of Everything" - The story of the most brilliant and celebrated physicist of our time, Stephen Hawking, and Jane Wilde, the arts student he fell in love with whilst studying at Cambridge in the 1960's.

August 29:  "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever" - Emmy Award-winning "Motown 25" showcases nearly every legendary artist from the company's inception and provides the backstory to Motown the Musical.

Campus Martius Park is located in the heart of downtown Detroit on Woodward Avenue at the corner of Michigan Avenue.
