Armed Robbers Target Woman And Child In Parking Lot After ATM Transaction In Southfield

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Police in Southfield are trying to identify two men who robbed a woman at gunpoint as she was walking through a parking lot with her small child.

The incident happened around 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 23 near the intersection of 9 Mile and Southfield roads.

The 37-year-old woman told police she was walking through the parking lot of the Chateau Riviera Apartments after using the ATM at the gas station across the street when she was approached by two men who were armed with full-sized, semi-automatic pistols.

The suspect demanded money and the victim complied. After getting what they asked for, the men fled the scene in a mid-90's black Four Taurus, going southbound on the Southfield service drive.

The woman and her child were not injured during the incident.

The suspects are both described as black males in their 30's, about 6-feet tall with a heavy build. The suspect who was driving the vehicle was wearing a dark blue hoodie.
