Detroit just sent left-handed Daniel Norris to the 15-day disabled list after he strained his oblique Wednesday night in Chicago. Norris had a solid night before the injury, including launching a two-run homer in his first major league plate appearance. He started to feel tightness in his side after he threw a curveball, and was pulled from the game in the fifth inning.
To add injury to injury, the Tigers also announced Thursday that fellow starter Anibal Sanchez would make a trip to the 15-day DL as well. He had a strain in his right rotator cuff, according to the team.
Wolf, who has been pitching in the majors since 1999, has thrown for the Phillies, Dodgers, Padres, Astros, Brewers, Orioles and Marlins. He's started 23 times this year for Toronto's AAA team, and has an ERA of 2.58 in 139 2/3 innings.
He will start Saturday in the Tigers' third game of the Rangers series.
