Detroit Police Identify Man, Woman Wanted In Deadly Hit-And-Run Accident

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are hoping the public can help locate two suspects wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident on the city's west side.

The accident happened around 10:55 p.m. on Monday, August 17 in the 7700 block of Greenview, near Southfield Freeway and Tireman Avenue.

According to police, 27-year-old LaDon Grice was retrieving items from her vehicle, which was parked in the street, when she was fatally struck by a silver 2004 Chevy Impala.

Police say the driver, identified as Jimmie Lee Jackson, initially stopped after the collision but then "abruptly left the scene." Witnesses also have placed the owner of the vehicle, Diana Hardy in the passenger seat, according to police.

Both Jackson and Hardy remain at large. They could be driving a silver 2004 Chevy Impala with Michigan license plate "DDY1928." The vehicle will have substantial front end and windshield damage, according to police.
