Bolden And Kerridge Selected Captains For The 2015 Michigan Football Team
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – University of Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh announced Thursday that senior linebacker Joe Bolden and fifth-year senior fullback Joe Kerridge have been voted captains for the 136th team in school history. Kerridge will represent the offense and Bolden will represent the defense.
The team's top tackler from 2014, Bolden heads into his fourth season needing 13 stops to eclipse 200 in his career. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native has posted 187 tackles, 12 TFLs and five sacks in 38 games of action. Bolden is a candidate for the Lott IMPACT Trophy and the Butkus Award.
One of the team's most dependable players on offense and special teams, Kerridge has appeared in 36 career games at fullback. He has started 10 career contests at fullback and has carried the ball 12 times for 90 yards in addition to being the lead blocker for Michigan's tailbacks. A Traverse City, Mich., native, Kerridge is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten Conference performer.
Bolden and Kerridge will help lead the Wolverines into their season opener at Utah next Thursday (Sept. 3). The nationally-televised game against the Utes will kick-off at 8:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
