4 Teens Escape Detroit Detention Center As Ministers Exit Building

DETROIT (WWJ) - Four teenagers are on the loose after escaping a juvenile detention center on Detroit's east side.

Police say 16-year-olds Duane Stiff-Brown and Michael Robinson, and 17-year-olds Devonte Kenney and Kenyata Saxton, escaped from the Don Bosco DePaul Center around 8:20 p.m. Thursday. The detention center is located at on Charlevoix at East Grand Boulevard.

According to police, guards opened the door to let visiting ministers exit the building when the boys rushed the door and knocked them down. The boys escaped on foot and went running in different directions.

Police say all four of the boys have been convicted of various crimes and were being held at the center "due to special needs." Felony warrants have now been issued for their arrests.

Police have not indicated if the boys should be considered dangerous.

Stiff-Brown is described as 5'9" tall and 165 lbs. with a medium complexion and tattoos on both arms: "loyalty" and "respect." He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, gray jogging pants and flip-flop shoes.

Robinson is described as 5'9" tall and 188 lbs. with short brown hair and a chipped front tooth. He was last seen wearing a green t-shirt, dark shorts and flip-flop shoes.

Kenney is described as 5'7" tall and 175 lbs. with a light complexion, low-cut hair and several tattoos on his body. He was last seen wearing a red long-sleeve shirt, burgundy shorts and flip-flop shoes.

Saxton is described as 5'9" tall and 165 lbs. with a light complexion, short black hair and a tattoo of "218" on his arm. He was last seen wearing a light blue polo, pajama pants and flip-flop shoes.
