Tips Sought To I.D. Man Who Stole Purse At Gunpoint In Grosse Pointe Woods [PHOTOS]

GROSSE POINTE WOODS (WWJ) - Authorities are looking for help to identify a bold armed robber.

Crime Stoppers on Thursday released surveillance photos of the man who police say mugged a woman at Little Tony's Restaurant, on Mack Ave. near Vernier, in Grosse Pointe Woods on Monday, Aug. 31.

Crime Stoppers says the suspect paced back and forth in front of the restaurant before he withdrew a pistol from his right front pocket, walked up to the victim while pointing the gun at her and demanded her purse.

The victim surrendered her bag to the suspect who took off running down north on Mack Ave.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s to 30s, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 160 lbs. with a medium to dark complexion.

A cash reward of up to $1,000 is available if a tip leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
