LaAdrian Waddle Hopes To Be Back For Lions Against Vikings

The Detroit Lions had victory in their grasp and were holding onto it tight, but then the second half of their game against the San Diego Chargers arrived. Something happened in every aspect of the game to have them just completely and totally collapse.
Now, they are heading home to face off with the visiting Minnesota Vikings, and one Lion simply hopes he will be back from a knee injury that kept him out of the Week 1 opener. As for the Vikings? They have a player that believes a victory over the Lions is all but secured.
Everson Griffin guarantees win for Vikings in Week 2
Anyone will tell you that guaranteeing a victory is a huge jinx and something you just don't do. If you don't expect to win though, then you don't have much faith in your team. After a Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers —a huge defeat—defensive end Everson Griffin thinks a win against the Lions is in the bag.
"We're going to beat Detroit," said Griffin. "I'm very angry right now, as you can see, because we prepared way too hard (to lose on Monday). But we're going to go out there and get 'em."
The Lions won't let that "guaranteed victory" by Griffin come easily. Minnesota has lost three of their last four against the Lions, and one was a 17-3 loss at TCF Bank Stadium in 2014. In that game, Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was sacked eight times, so it appears the Lions may have Minnesota's number.

Detroit Lions right tackle LaAdrian Waddle suffered a knee injury late last year that has kept him out of training camp, preseason, and even Week 1 of the regular season. Well, he was back for the final week of training camp, but knew he would miss Week 1 against the San Diego Chargers and simply hopes he will be ready for the game with the Vikings.
"If things go good this wee, I think we'll be able to go," said Waddle. "And I should be able to handle everything."
Waddle says he has no pain in his right knee at this point, but the coaching staff wants no setbacks. They want to make sure that Waddle is fully healthy before putting him on the field, which is why he didn't play against the Chargers.
Now, though? Waddle thinks Week 2 will be different and that he will make his 2015 NFL regular season debut against the Vikings.
