WORTH TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Authorities in Sanilac County believe a body found on a Lake Huron beach is that of a Macomb Township man missing since August.

Saniliac County Sheriff Garry Biniecki said the remains were found by a passerby shortly before noon on Sunday after they  apparently washed up on shore in Worth Township.

Officials are still waiting on a positive I.D., but Biniecki believes it is 60-year-old Patrick Presutti, who disappeared after an argument with his wife.

"There were some items that were with the body that we believe were objects that belonged to him," Biniecki told WWJ Newsradio 950's Sandra McNeill — although he wouldn't offer any details about those items.

When and how Presutti died remains a mystery.  He was last seen on his boat, which was found by a freighter crew — partially submerged in Lake Huron.

Macomb County Sheriff's officials at that time said it appeared to have been intentionally sunk, adding that Presutti may have been missing voluntarily.

As for whether foul play is suspected, Bienicke said an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday will help to determine that.
