Dan Leach's 2015 NFL Locks: Week 'Cloud 9'

By Dan Leach
@DTMLeach

It's almost hard to believe we've already steamrolled our way to Week 9 of the NFL season. My NFL picks are heating up, helping you win your pick-em-pool, embarrass your friends, and just become a more whole football fan and human being. I'm taking a look at five games this week with the best value and rating them on a sliding lock of the week 1-10 Bagels and Lock scale. And……away….we…..go!

DTM Song Of The Week: "Writing's On The Wall" By Sam Smith

This week's song is a guest pick by CBS Detroit web wiz Dan Jenkins (@dantjenkins on Twitter) who shares my love for the newest 007 James Bond flick, Spectre.

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys, Sunday 8:30 p.m. EST, TV: NBC (Eagles -3)

The Eagles ran into the perfect Carolina Panthers on the road on Monday Night Football, where Cam Newton and the Panthers came away victorious to improve to a perfect 7-0. Despite the loss, the Eagles refused to go away and made the game interesting until the very end.

No Tony Romo, no problem for the Eagles. The Cowboys are in last place in the NFC East -- expect it to stay that way.

5.5 on DTM Bagels and Lock of the Week Meter – Eagles (-3)

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills, Sunday 1 p.m. EST, TV: CBS (Bills -2.5)

The Bills are coming off two straight losses but are running into the Dolphins at the right time. After putting up two monster offensive games under interim coach Dan Campbell, the Fins got throttled by the Patriots on the road.

The Bills had the extra Bye Week to get ready for this one, expect them to cover.

6.5 on DTM Bagels and Lock of the Week Meter – Bills (-2.5)

Oakland Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers, Sunday 1 p.m. EST, TV: CBS (Steelers -4.5)

The Raiders are one of the nicest surprises in the NFL this season and are coming off of two nice wins -- at San Diego and at home against the New York Jets. Big Ben Roethlisberger will be in Week Two of his recovery tour after losing a bruising game to the undefeated Bengals last week.

The Raiders will surprise the Steel City by staying within the 4.5 spread, and maybe even by winning.

7.1 on DTM Bagels and Lock of the Week Meter – Raiders (+4.5)

Green Bay Packers at Carolina Panthers, Sunday 1 p.m. EST, TV: FOX (Packers -2.5)

The Packers are a freight train and will be angry coming off their first loss of the season at the hands of the Dever Broncos last week at Mile High. Aaron Rodgers rarely has two bad games in a row and will come out bombing on the undefeated Panthers.

The clock will strike midnight in Carolina this week, as the final unbeaten in the NFC will go down on Sunday afternoon.

7.4 on DTM Bagels and Lock of the Week Meter – Packers (-2.5)

Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts, Sunday 4:25 p.m. EST, TV: CBS (Broncos -5.5)

Despite Old Man Peyton showing some major signs of his age, the Broncos are somehow undefeated -- mostly because of their defense. Peyton's replacement in Indianapolis, Andrew Luck, has had a rough season, but the Colts are still somehow in first place in the putrid AFC South.

The Colts have scored at least 20 points in all but one game this season -- expect this one to be a nailbiter.

8 on DTM Bagels and Lock of the Week Meter – Colts (+5.5)

ODDS TIDBIT

Latest Super Bowl 50 Odds -- the New England Patriots now the favorite at 5-2. The Broncos are now the third fave at 15-1 and Arizona is the fourth selection at 10-1. If you're wondering, the Lions check in at the bargain price of 2500-1!

DTM'S 2015 Record ATS: 19-16

DTM'S 2014 Record ATS: 58-40-1

DTM's ATS Record in last 15 Super Bowls: 13-2
