Beaumont Hospital Delivers First Baby Of 2016 At 12:03 A.M.
ROYAL OAK (WWJ) -- It's a boy!
The first baby born in Beaumont Hospital's Karmanos Birth Center in Royal Oak was delivered at 12:03 a.m. Friday morning. Charisma Grandberry gave birth to seven-pound, seven-ounce Mason Dallas Stewart.
"You know what's funny? I actually let his brother pick his name out," Grandberry said. "I was actually going to name him Dallas, so we decided to go ahead and make his middle name Dallas."
Grandberry -- whose other son is nine-years-old -- says Mason was four days late.
"I was eager to possibly have him on Christmas," Grandberry said. "When I went past my due date I was like, "oh my gosh, when is he going to come out?'"
Grandberry said she feels great, other than being extra tired.
"It's going to be awesome now," Grandberry said. "Instead of just celebrating the New Year or new me or new things to look forward to, we can always celebrate Mason's birthday as well."
