Refs Ignore Obvious Fouls In Crazy Final Sequence; Ball State Beats Eastern Michigan At Buzzer [VIDEO]

YPSILANTI (CBS Detroit/AP) — Francis Kiapway hit seven 3-pointers — including one in the last second of the second overtime — to give Ball State an 88-87 win over Eastern Michigan on Saturday.

Ty Toney's acrobatic layup plus a free throw put the Eagles up 87-86 with 26.5 seconds left. Kiapway, who finished with 22 points, missed a 3 with 16.7 seconds remaining. The Eagles' Brandon Nazione got the rebound but Ryan Weber ripped the ball away and found Kiapway, who launched the winning shot just beyond the top of the arc.

Eagles play-by-play announcer Ryan Wooley talked about the crazy sequence after the game.

"The officials just totally disregarded everything that was going on," Wooley said. "They're poking at his belly, grabbing his shirt, reaching for the basketball -- clear violations of a foul, never called it."

Jeremie Tyler added 17 points and Franko House 15 for the Cardinals (13-6, 4-2 Mid-American). Bo Calhoun had 14 points and 14 boards.

Toney and James Thompson IV had 23 points each for the Eagles (10-9, 2-4) with Thompson grabbing 14 rebounds.

Weber missed a deep 3 in the closing seconds of regulation. In the first overtime, Nazione's free throws with 3 seconds tied it at 77-all.
