Detroit Titans Men's Basketball To Visit Flint And Deliver Water On Monday, Feb. 22

The Titans and the University of Detroit Mercy started an initiative to collect water, supplies, money, etc., for residents of Flint a couple of weeks ago and on Monday, Feb. 22, the Detroit men's basketball team is set to visit Flint to deliver the cases of water collected in the last few weeks.

Along with the collection at UDM, Absopure has made a donation of close to 1,500 cases of water and that will also be dropped off on Monday.

The men's basketball program will be arriving at the Broome Center on Monday, February 22, at 4 pm to help hand out and stack inside the center. Due to scheduling conflicts, the women's basketball team will head up to Flint on a separate date.

This entire plan began after speaking with senior men's basketball player Anton Wilson and his mother, Monica. They reside in Flint and wanted to know if there was anything we could do to help with the awful situation that has been presented. Monica then got in contact with Leon El-Alamin and the Broome Center as a possible place to hold this water drive.

Anton's family members will also be in attendance as with coaching staff, staff members and Absopure.

Below is the address of the drop-off point. For more information or if you would live to come out for video and sound, please get back to me. We will accommodate all interviews. Thanks.
