Infant Killed In Shooting On Detroit's West Side; 2 Men In Custody

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) -- Police say two men are in custody and a third is being sought after a 6-month-old girl was fatally shot as she was with others in the yard outside a Detroit house.

Detroit Officer Dan Donakowski says Miracle Murray was killed when a gunman came around some bushes, opened fire and then escaped in a car. A 24-year-old man also was injured and was in stable condition. It wasn't clear what the relationship was between the girl and the injured man.

"It appears to be gang related," Donakowski said, adding that it may be connected to the fatal shooting of a 3-year-old girl on Easter Sunday. He gave no other details.

The incident took place at a house near Winthrop St. and Clarita Ave. Police believe that three men were involved in the shooting. They fled the scene in a silver Saturn.
