For Second Day In A Row, Roseville Middle School Evacuated Due To Bomb Threat

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - Students and staff members at Roseville Middle School have been evacuated, for the second day in a row, due to a bomb threat.

Authorities say the threat was phoned in to the school, located on Martin Road just east of Groesbeck Highway, Wednesday morning. It was nearly identical to a threat the school received on Tuesday.

Everyone has been moved to a nearby high school as a precaution while police sweep the middle school.

About 550 students attend Roseville Middle School.

On Tuesday, the school received a similar phone threat around 7:10 a.m. After nearly two-and-a-half hours, students and staff were allowed back inside the building following a search by police, who determined the threat was not credible. Administrators told parents they could leave their kids in school for the rest of the day or take them home.

Following Tuesday's threat, Roseville Schools Superintendent John Kment said the district's technology department was working with police to determine who placed the threat. A suspect has not yet been identified.
