Farmington Hills Police Still Searching For Man Wanted In Fatal Pedestrian Accident

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Police in Farmington Hills are hoping the public can help locate a 24-year-old Romulus man wanted in connection with the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian.

Earlier this week, the the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office issued a two count warrant for Terrel Dewhite Johnson for failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in serious impairment or death, and operating while license suspended -- second offense.

Romonia Edwards died of her injures on Thursday, five days after the accident occurred on eastbound Grand River Avenue just north of 8 Mile Road.

According to police, the 22-year-old woman was standing outside of a hotel around 5:20 a.m. when she was struck by minivan, allegedly driven by Johnson.

Police say Edwards and Johnson knew each other, but the extent of their relationship is unknown.

Johnson is described as a black male, 6-feet tall and 150 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Police say he's known to frequent the southwest area of Detroit. The vehicle involved is described as a newer model red or maroon Chrysler Town and Country with a temporary registration plate in the back window.

Farmington Hills Police continue to request assistance in locating Johnson. They would also like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 248-871-2610.
