Mystery Surrounds 30-Year-Old Woman Found Dead In Pontiac Field

PONTIAC (WWJ) - An autopsy on the body of a woman found in a vacant field in Pontiac reveals no specific cause of death.

The mystery behind the woman deepened as police continue to investigate the circumstances of her death reports WWJ's Jon Hewett.

The body was found near a wooded area on Prospect Street near Woodward on Wednesday. Police have identified that woman as 30-year-old Jennifer Colleja of White Lake Township -- she had been reported missing by her boyfriend.

"There is no visible signs of trauma to the decedent," said Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, "meaning no obvious sign of either a stab wound or gunshot wound - obviously toxicology is going to be the next important question mark."

Bouchard described Colleja as a known drug user saying that it appears she died at another location from where her body was found.

"Taking someone - moving a body and doing what was done is a crime in and of itself, but we'd like to know where she was for the last 24-48 hours; what preceded this? What was involved? Were drugs involved and if they were -- to what extent was it voluntary?"

A final autopsy report, with complete with toxicology results, is expected within the next 4 to 5 weeks.
