Detroit Police Seek Tips In Fatal 4th Of July Hit-And-Run

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are looking for help to track down two people who fled the scene of a fatal pedestrian crash on the city's west side.

According to police, the 58-year-old male victim was crossing Schoolcraft Road at Schaefer at around 6:20 p.m. on Monday, the 4th of July, when he was struck by a speeding car.

Investigators say a black Chevy Impala or Caprice was involved and they're looking for two suspects who were in that car — described only as a black male and a black female.

Anyone who witnessed this crime or who has any information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department's Fatal Squad at  313-596-1462.

The victim's name has not been released.
