4 Injured, 3 Wanted, 3 In Custody After Pepper Spray Deployed In Walmart Robbery

DELTA TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Authorities are looking for three people who escaped the scene after a robbery and assault at an Eaton County Walmart.

Sheriff's officials say several employees were injured in the incident at around 5:45 a.m. Monday at the discount superstore in Delta Township, west of Lansing.

It began as a simple shoplifting, as a group of six suspects tried to leave the store with "a large amount of merchandise" without paying, according to authorities. As they tried to push the packed cart of the doors, sheriff's officials said, the suspects were stopped by a group of employees.

The group of suspects allegedly began to fight with the employees, at one point using pepper spray.

A total of four Walmart employees were injured; one of them taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Three people were arrested at the scene. There names were not immediately released.

Later Monday, authorities were looking for help from the public to identify three additional suspects (seen in security photos above) who fled the scene in a 2009 Teal Saturn Outlook with Michigan license plate CLP4763.

Anyone who may know the people in the photos, who has seen the vehicle described or who has any information about this case is asked to call Sgt. Jim West at 517-816-8209.
