Construction Worker Dies After Fall From 4-Story Building

WIXOM (WWJ) -- Police say a construction worker fell to his death from a building in Wixom on Monday.

The man was on top of a new building going up on Alpha Drive near I-96 and Wixom Road when he fell about 40 feet. It is not clear why the man -- whose name is not yet being released -- lost his footing.

He was transported for Providence Park Hospital, where he was declared dead. The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration has launched an investigation.

Wixom police are expected to release more information about the case on Tuesday.
