3-Year-Old Detroit Boy Rushed To Hospital After Fall Out Of Window

DETROIT (WWJ) - A young child has been taken to a local hospital after Detroit police say he fell out of a second-story window.

It happened around 2 p.m. at a home on Hull Street, near 8 Mile and I-75.

Police said the 3-year-old boy was conscious and crying when emergency responders arrived. It appears that his injuries are non-life threatening — but police are waiting to confirm the boy's condition.

Neighbor Patricia Curley says the boy was out cold immediately after the fall on Hull Street. Curley says his mother ran down the street with the boy in her arms.

"He came around pretty good ... he was alright. They took him to emergency - I heard he's alright. The lady that stays there told me the baby is alright but they wanted to keep him down there to keep an eye on him," said Curley.

Police say the boy is expected to be fine. Curley says the neighbor told her the boy fell due to a loose screen on the second floor of her home.

The boy's name was not released.

WWJ's Sandra McNeill is headed to the scene to get more information. Stay turned for more on this developing story.
