'Person Of Interest' Wanted In Fatal Shooting At Detroit Park [VIDEO+PHOTO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are hoping the public can help identify a person of interest wanted in connection with a shooting at a west side Detroit park that left one man dead and two others, including a 16-year-old, injured.

The shooting happened around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, at Forrer Park on Verne Avenue and Forrer Street, just north of Puritan Avenue and Greenfield Road.

According to police, the victims were leaving the nearby Greenfield Market "when a group of unknown black males followed the victims across Puritan in approximately 3-4 vehicles to the Forrer Park."

Once at the park, the suspects, who were in a dark gray Jeep Liberty, opened fire, striking all three victims. A 19-year-old man was fatally wounded. Two others, a 21- and 16-year-old, were treated for non-fatal injuries.

Police have released photos and a surveillance video taken from cameras inside the Greenfield Market shortly before the shooting, that allegedly shows the person of interest.
