The Snack Attack: New Reese's Pieces Peanut Butter Cups Will Blow Your Mind [TASTE TEST]

The internet basically exploded earlier this year when Reese's said it was introducing a revolutionary product to its lineup -- Reese's Pieces Peanut Butter Cups.

The delicious creation, a "cupfusion" if you will, combines the best of both peanut buttery, chocolate-covered worlds to create one deliciously mind-blowing sensation. It's Reese's Pieces candy stuffed inside of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. The only question I have now is why did this take so long?!

It also leads me to another great debate: How do you pronounce Reese's Pieces? Ree-sey Pee-ceys? Rees-es Pees-es? I'm in the Pee-ceys camp.

After eating this tasty treat, I don't think I'll ever go back to eating just plain Reese's cups again. I might wait until the temperature drops below 90 degrees again, though. My cups were a little melty.

Review: Reese's Pieces Peanut Butter Cups

Appearance: The meltyness aside, you really can't tell any difference between these cups and regular Reese's cups -- from the outside. All the magic is hidden inside! Tiny particles of Pieces are clearly visible in the peanut butter, which appears much creamier than the dry textured peanut butter in regular cups. I was kind of expecting to see at least one whole Pieces, maybe even a half. Yes, I cut the cup in half but none of the remaining Pieces were big enough to convince me they were whole before meeting my knife.

Taste: It's creamy, it's crunchy, it's chocolaty and yummy, but above all else, it's peanut buttery! Mind=blown.

At first this appears to be a regular Reese's, until you bite in! First, you'll notice the crunchy texture the Pieces' shells add to the peanut butter. A crunchy Reese's cup might sound a little weird but trust me, it is amazing. The second thing you'll notice is the peanut butter is slightly different, which depending on what type of peanut butter you prefer, you might like or you might not. Regular Reese's Cups have a somewhat dry, crumbly peanut butter, while the peanut butter that fills the Pieces is creamier with a slightly different taste. The Cup stuffed with Pieces does exactly what you would expect and combines both styles of peanut butter, resulting in a Reese's hybrid I've never tasted before. Not to mention, regular Reese's Pieces don't even contain chocolate. So yeah, Pieces in a cup form, covered in chocolate, is where it's at.

Pros: The crunchiness of the Pieces shells are what really make this "next level." I also like the unique texture of the peanut butter.

Cons: I was going to say there weren't enough whole Pieces and maybe a Big Cup version would have been better. Then I found out that this is sold in a Big Cup version, too. So, if you're looking for whole Pieces instead of pieces of Pieces, I'd suggest going for the big daddy instead of the regular size.

Rating: 9 out of 10 - Wow! Just when you thought Reese's couldn't get any better, THIS happens.
