DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for a gunman who shot and wounded a 7-year-old boy during a domestic dispute on the city's east side.

According to police, Torrey Craft was involved in an argument with the boy's mother on Monday. Craft made good on a threat to return Tuesday -- only he also allegedly brought along an assault weapon.

When the woman's brother blocked Craft from trying to visit, police say Craft opened fire, striking the boy in the leg.

The boy, who was outside with others at the time, was taken to a nearby hospital with what were described as critical injuries. He was last reported in stable condition.

Craft fled the scene following the shooting. He remains at large, and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Anyone who knows Craft's whereabouts or who has any other information is urged to contact police at 313-596-1616 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
