Suspects Snatch 25 Bags Of Pills, Narcotics From Delivery Truck Outside Detroit Rite-Aid [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are trying to identify two suspects who were caught on camera stealing more than two dozen tote-bags full of pills from outside a Rite-Aid pharmacy on the city's east side.

The robbery took place around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17 in the 17100 block of Harper, off of Cadieux Road.

According to video footage, a delivery driver for McKesson had parked his burgundy 2003 Ford E-150 van in the pharmacy's parking lot, loaded a handcart and entered the store.

While inside of the location, police say an unknown suspect driving a silver 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van pulled behind the delivery van and parked. A second suspect then emerged from the passenger side of the silver van, approach the delivery van, and force entry inside.

After gaining entry, police say the suspect removed 25 tote-bags containing pharmaceutical medication -- including narcotics and non-narcotics. After taking the bags, both suspects fled the location in an unknown direction.

Police say the suspect vehicle was later found abandoned in the 9700 block of Wayburn.

The first suspect is described as a black male wearing a white hat and white t-shirt. The other suspect was described only as a black male.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or who has any other information is urged to contact police at 313-596-5540 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
