Woman, 71, Dies After Falling Out Of Boat Into Stony Creek Lake

SHELBY TOWNSHIP (AP) — A 71-year-old woman who was trying to change her seat in a boat has died after falling into a lake in Macomb County.

The sheriff’s office says Joyce Kuhn’s husband tried to keep her head above water but the Warren woman drowned Saturday at Stony Creek Lake at Stony Creek Metropark. They had intended to go fishing.

Kuhn and her husband had rented a rowboat with life jackets, but they were not wearing them at the time of the incident. Kevin Kuhn also fell out of the boat and into the water. He survived.
