Body Of Teen Drowning Victim Found In Lake Michigan Off Holland

HOLLAND, Mich. (AP) — Authorities believe they have found the body of a 17-year-old boy who drowned last week in Lake Michigan in western Michigan.

Sheriff’s deputies in Ottawa County say the body was discovered Friday about 300 yards north of a pier at Holland State Park. Sgt. Cal Keuning says the body is believed to be Christopher Mimis of the Holland area.

Mimis and three other boys were swimming on Aug. 31, but he and 14-year-old Vincent Green couldn’t overcome strong current and waves. Green’s body was found the next day.
