Construction Could Slow Down Your Drive To Ford Field This Sunday

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) -- Driving to the Detroit Lions game at Ford Field on Sunday? You might have to plan around some construction.

I-75 is scheduled for a full closure between Crooks Road and M-59 from Friday at 11 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.

Fans attending the game or heading downtown through the effected area should allow for extra time and seek alternate routes.

Woodward Ave. is open, but has lane closures due to construction of the M-1 RAIL project. As part of the ongoing project, Woodward over the I-75 bridge will have one open northbound lane, one open southbound lane and center turn lane.

Fans coming to Lions games at Ford Field this season are encouraged to download the Detroit Lions mobile app and set up notifications to receive traffic updates and recommendations on game day.

Also, Ford Field will have new walk-through metal detectors at Gate A. Gates to the stadium will open two hours prior to kickoff.

Parking facilities adjacent to Ford Field and Comerica Park are expected to be available three hours prior to kickoff.

The Lions have a new partnership with Uber that features an exclusive pickup and drop-off point at Ford Field on game days located along E. Fisher Service Drive, between Woodward and John R.
