Four-Day Detroit BMI Songwriter Series Brings Musical Energy To The Motor City

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) To bring music to venues across metro Detroit, CBS Radio unveiled a four-day Detroit BMI Singer Songwriter Series that will span musical hotspots from Wednesday, Oct. 19 through Saturday, Oct. 22.

Headliners include Hunter Hayes, LoCash, Brett Young, Uncle Kracker, Jacob Whitesides, Tinashe and more. Legendary songwriters Casey Beathard, Wendell Mobley, Michael Ray, Jerrod Niemann and Joe Nichols will also highlight the series.

Come on down, stop into your favorite music venue and get whisked away by intimate acoustic performances from artists who penned some of music's favorite songs. From Motown classics to today's biggest pop and country hits, every genre of music will be represented.

The festivities will culminate with a main event at Coyote Joe's on Saturday, Oct. 22. Tickets for the Saturday event are $10 at www.coyotejoes.com.

Admission is free to the public at Hockeytown Cafe events and a nominal fee ($5) will be charged day-of-show at Hard Rock Cafe.

Dedicated to music and those who create it, the Detroit BMI Singer Songwriter Series will introduce Motor City's music fans to the faces, voices and stories behind their favorite songs though unique and up-close showcases.

The series is sponsored by Olympia Entertainment, Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau, Detroit Institute of Music Education, HD Radio and BMI.

A songwriting class will be hosted by DIME's Antea Shelton, who has written songs for Justin Bieber and Beyonce.  Learn how to write a song and before the class is over, you will collaborate on a song together!  The event is free and open to the public.
