Ex-Rowing Coach Agrees To Plea In Hidden Camera Case

PLANFIELD TOWNSHIP (AP) - A former head men's rowing coach in western Michigan who was arrested after a video recording device was found containing images of girls changing their clothes has agreed to plead guilty.

The agreement for 30-year-old Timothy Vallier filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids includes charges of attempted sexual exploitation of children and possession of child pornography. In exchange, he's not expected to face additional charges.

Authorities have said Vallier was arrested in July after the Rockford Public Schools district reported the camera had what appeared to be video from inside the changing room of the Rockford Crew House in Kent County's Plainfield Township. Investigators say Vallier hid the camera.

Court documents say he recorded dozens of videos of minors changing between January 2012 and April 2016.
